Adult Enrichment
Upcoming Program (Sept 2025)
Finding Peace & Letting Go of Stress & Worry
A talk and small group led by Amy Ekeh; Sunday, September 7th 12-1:30
A light lunch will be served at noon. $5 suggested donation, collected on that day.
Back by popular demand, Amy Ekeh, a former student of Father Matera and Director of Mission Advancement for the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joins us to navigate through this pertinent topic that has stitched itself into the fabric of modern life. This will be a dynamic session with small-group discussions where we will uncover passages that help us restore the golden thread of peace back into our lives. “By seeking His love, and reading His words, rather than seeking what the world offers.”

Testimonials
Especially noteworthy was a note from a woman who had been a parishioner at St. Bernard’s parish for 40 years before it was merged with our parish. She attended the Covid lockdown Q&A.
“We felt so comforted by last night’s program. God Bless.”
Can you Serve?
We meet monthly for about an hour, usually on weekday mornings—although we are very flexible and will work around schedules.
We would LOVE new perspectives! We especially need to hear from: Parents with young children who are “in the weeds” and can share how best to help with topics that young parents need and how best to accomplish this given challenging schedules. We’ve been there—it isn’t easy! How can we help as a parish? You can bring kids to meetings—we have crayons and are good at blocking out extra noise. We also would value male perspectives about what is hard about being a Catholic man today—parent, citizen and friend.
Did you Know?
- We organized a Q&A with Father Matera and Deacon Art which was live streamed over the lockdown covering subjects such as loneliness, how to respond to divisive language and how to healthfully assist one another.
- Most of our members partake in other ministries at St. Mary’s.
- Before the renovation, we had speakers coming to talk during the Sunday morning faith formation classes. We had speakers talk about parenting challenges for various age groups, how to forgive, how to care for aging parents, etc. These talks were very well attended and brought together a great sense of community with many parishioners attending regularly. We’d love to recreate this with our new space and resources.
Our core Team
- Betty Bible
- Jen Shiman
We are a small group of about 5-6 members-all women currently. This is a group that is low-key, realistic, welcoming, laughing and open-minded. Our greatest common denominator is we love our faith and want to help our fellow parishioners with topics and encouragement in where they want to grow.
